Darling Girl OUAT Operation Sparkle Swatches

Happy Friday everyone! I have a rather large backlog of products to review but I received the latest installment of Darling Girl's Once Upon a Time collection and it immediately got pushed up to the front of the line. This is a continuously expanding collection and is permanent. This release includes three new eyeshadows and a new lip product, DG's matte balm. The balm retails for $7.00 and the shadows are available as petits for $2.50 or full sizes for $6.00. I have part 1 and 2 swatched here.

Products were provided as press samples. All thoughts and opinions are my own. For reference, my skin tone is slightly lighter than an NC15, fair with warm undertones. Please view my disclosure policy for more information. Swatches are done half on Urban Decay Primer Potion, half over Darling Girl Cosmetics Glitter Glue.

Charming is a light beige with green and gold sparkle. Without primer, the finish is mostly matte with a scattering of shimmer, while over a sticky base the green shimmer is much more intense. I think it looks nice both ways. This shade is inspired by Prince Charming/David and is my favorite of the collection.

Snow is a light baby pink with pink, gold, and blue microsparkle. This color applied nearly identically over regular primer and the sticky base. It's a perfect color to represent Snow White/Mary Margaret.

The Savior? is a brownish red with purple iridescence. In application, it appears mostly matte. This shade is inspired by Emma Swan.

Truest Believer is a warm pink with a matte finish. This was my first experience with this product. Since it's a matte formula, it does have a tendency to emphasize dry patches so I'd suggest exfoliating first. I hate extremely drying matte finishes so I'm happy to report this one is comfortable to wear, even for extended periods. Wear time was about 4-5 hours for me.

Here's a look I did using Charming on the lid, Snow on the inner corner, and The Savior? in the crease and foiled with DG Superstar Serum to make it into a liner.

Overall I think these are nice additions to the collection. Charming in particular I can see pairing very well with some of the older shades like Let's Hook Up. The Savior? would look stunning paired with Dearie. I like that Susan included a lip color this time around. I'm excited to see what the future brings for this collection. I'd love to see maybe a blue added in for the blue Fairy and a rich emerald green for Zelena!
