Darling Girl Cosmetics Fairy Tale Romance Collection

I finally have swatches of Darling Girl's Once Upon A Time inspired collection for you today. As I mentioned in a recent post, I'm a big fan of OUAT. This collection is part of a continuously growing catalog, meaning that the shadows are being released in waves. I have both the original wave and a preview of the second wave swatched here. I also have the Love Bug Lip Gloss that's part of the collection that I'll be reviewing separately.

For transparency purposes, I'd like to disclose that I'm a Darling Girl Cosmetics promoter. I receive a monthly discount code in exchange for creating a few looks a month. I am not otherwise compensated for this review. I partnered with Darling Girl because they are an awesome indie brand that I've loved since the start of my indie makeup journey! Susan is constantly putting out new products and she makes some of my favorite items. With that being said, I'll always give my honest opinion on these products. as all others.

Photos were taken in direct light. For reference, my skin tone is slightly lighter than an NC15, fair with warm undertones. Please view my disclosure policy for more information. Swatches are done half on Urban Decay Primer Potion, half over Darling Girl Cosmetics Glitter Glue.

From left to right: Love Is Weakness, Dearie, The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up.

Dearie is a rich molten metallic gold with large blue sparkles. THIS COLOR IS STUNNING. It's an amazingly luxe looking shade and is intensely pigmented. The best part is the formula is equally impressive over just regular primer. This shade is definitely a must have, in my opinion. Rumpelstilskin/Mr. Gold is the inspiration behind this color.

Love is Weakness is a rich burgundy with gold and blue sparkles. Inspired by Regina, the Evil Queen. Regina is the character I most identify with and her makeup is always so on point. This shade also had excellent pigmentation.

The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up is a muted olive green with blue and pink shimmer and a gold sheen. This is a pretty interesting take on a classic neutral and I think it would work for anyone looking for office appropriate shades. This color is inspired by Pan.

Left to right: Let's Hook Up, Hot As Baelfire, If I Only Had a Heart.

If I Only Had a Heart is a pale cream shade with gold sheen and soft gold iridescence. This color and
the next two are part of the original wave. This shade can be used all over the lid or as a highlight. I believe this shade is inspired by The Huntsman.

Hot As Baelfire is a midtone matte plummy brown. Any shimmer you see in my swatch doesn't actually translate on the lid. I've been using this a lot lately to deepen my crease. The formula is smooth and easy to blend out! Definitely a nice matte brown if you're in the market for one.

Let's Hook Up is a blackened green base with gold. green, and orange sparkles. Inspired by my biggest on-screen crush, Captain Hook/Killian. The sparkle in this shade is really brilliant but needs a sticky base to really shine.

The collection is continuously growing as new shades get released. So far, there are a lot of nice metallics and shimmers. If you happen to watch the show, I think you'll appreciate the connection of the shades to the characters that inspired them. Dearie is absolutely gorgeous and is perfect in terms of formula. I'll be creating a look using these shades soon. Hope you guys enjoyed my review!
