Darling Girl Friends Central Collection Swatches Pt. 1

Hello! Today I have swatches of half of the upcoming Darling Girl Friends Collection. I've only ever watched a couple of episodes but I know there are a lot of diehard Friends fans out there. If you're one of these people, DG has delivered! Luckily you don't have to be an avid watcher of the show to appreciate these products. There are 17 eyeshadows, 1 Spectral Shift, 2 inner glow blushes, and 2 Pucker Paint liquid lipsticks in this collection. It's set to make it's debut on January 25 along with the All The Men You Can't Have mini collection.

As an aside, DG also plans to release their brow powders that day which is based off the recipe used by Chinovi Cosmetics, a company that unfortunately closed last year. I have been looking for an indie alternative to products like Anastasia Beverly Hill's brow powder so I'll definitely be picking up a jar.

Products were provided as press samples. All thoughts and opinions are my own. For reference, my skin tone is slightly lighter than an NC15, fair with warm undertones. Please view my disclosure policy for more information. Swatches are done half on Urban Decay Primer Potion, half over Darling Girl Cosmetics Glitter Glue.

I Love Ross, I Hate Ross is a medium-deep purple with gold and copper shimmer. The purple/gold combination is one we see a lot but it's pretty nonetheless. The sparkles were nicely visible in the look below and it's pigmented over a regular primer as well.

Princess Consuela Bannanahammock is a mustard yellow with light green and pink shimmer. Of all the name references, this one I actually understand! It has a similar base color to DG This is Lemonade but has small pink shimmer as opposed to large glitter sparkles and has the addition of green shimmer. I wore this on the inner lid in one the looks below and it looks more yellow gold from a distance than a distinct yellow. I'm torn on whether I want this one or This is Lemonade in mini jar.

Tastes Like Feet is a grey-toned mauve. This one is a chameleon shade though, depending on the lighting it can look more taupe and even slightly bluish. Here's a quick shot I got using my camera phone and ring light. Believe it or not the last shade is Tastes Like Feet:

L to R: Tastes Like Feet, Smell the Fart Acting, Ms. Chanandler Bong, I Love Ross, I Hate Ross, Here Comes the Meat Sweats.

Occupation...Dinosaurs is a slightly blue toned green with blue sparkles. I haven't had the opportunity to use this one yet but I imagine it would make a good crease shade, maybe paired with We Were on a Break on the lids.

London Baby! is a cool cornflower blue with pink shimmer.

Here Comes the Meat Sweats is a pale pink with a silvery blue shift. This is one of DG's Spectral Shifts, a multipurpose highlighting product that can be used on the eyes as well as the cheeks. It's pretty similar to Ten Three Labs Antoinette (discontinued) but has more blue to it. This makes a beautiful neutral with a twist and works well on the lid or on the inner corner.

Crap Bag is a dark brown base loaded with blue sparkle. LOVE this color. It would look awesome on the lids in a smokey eye. Since this is heavy on the glitter, I recommend wearing it over a sticky base for maximum sparkle and adherence.

Ms. Chanandler Bong is a rusty red base with a coppery orange shift. Another stunner, I knew this shade was going to be a favorite. It's like two of my favorite DG Shades, Bronze Dawn and There Is No Dana had a baby. It pulls slightly more red than those two, but I know for sure I'm going to need a full size of this one.

Could I Be Wearing Anymore Clothes? is a beautiful shimmery aqua with pink sparkles. I don't reach for bright blues too often but this is a great take on it. I know I sound like a broken record but these shades perform incredibly well over regular primer.

Oh My God is a dark brown with pink, purple, green, and orange sparkles. I bet this would look awesome foiled with DG Superstar Serum and worn as liner. As with Crap Bag, using a glitter base will help the glitter stand out.

Stay tuned for part 2 next week!

  1. Aaaah! A Friends collection! How awesome! Is it bad that I don't get all the names, despite watching the entire series like 3 times? Must've missed some on the reruns. Kinda need Ms. Chanandler Bong, though. Both for the name and the colour. Great swatches! Gorgeous.

    1. I've heard the Netflix version of the show cuts out quite a few parts so maybe that might have something to do with it? The only one I knew was Princess Consuela Bananahammock ;D
