Baroque Cosmetics Friends In My Heart Collection Review
Hi everyone! Today I have my review of Baroque Cosmetics Friends In My Heart Collection. This is collection is based off the Kingdom Hearts game series, which my sister and I are big fans of. There are 12 shades in this collection, and it features a wide assortment of colors.
Products were purchased using a blogger discount. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Please view my disclosure policy for more information. Swatches are done half on Urban Decay Primer Potion, half over Darling Girl Cosmetics Glitter Glue.
Heartless is a smokey black with pink glitter. This shade is gorgeous and I love that the pink glitter really stands out from the dark base. The glitter held reasonably well just over regular primer too which is cool.
Blast Away! is a sparkly dark blue with glitter. This is lighter and brighter than Baroque's other sparkly blue, Sun King.
Sky is a medium metallic brown with blue shimmer. Very pretty shade, the blue shimmer catches the light in a nice way. Good if you like those neutral-with-a-twist kind of colors.
Sea is a deep pink burgundy with blue shimmer. The website description calls it glitter, but I'd say the particles are smaller. Reminds me quite a lot of the red shade in the March Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet.
My Friends Are My Power is a true sky blue. Nice pigmentation over both a sticky base and regular primer.
Heart of All Worlds is a shimmery creamsickle beige with pink shimmer. This is an interesting twist on a classic beige. Without the pink shimmer, it reminds me a lot of Hello Waffle Snowbees.
Land is a silver with green shimmer. I'm usually not a big fan of silvers but the inclusion of the green shimmer puts this closer to sage territory, which is a color family I do like.
Hikari is a light shimmery gold. This color pulls much less yellow than Versailles from the French Revolution collection. This shade in particular felt very lush in terms of formula.
Radiant Garden is a soft bubblegum pink with violet shimmer. This color would pair well with the red burgundies in this collection.
I'm So FLATTERED! is a jungle green. This is not the kind of green I usually gravitate to but I can't say I have much like it!
Get Up On The Hydra's Back! is a purpley-red shimmer.
Stolen Identity is a molten yellow gold. This was the only dud in the collection. As you can see, it was very sheer over just primer alone and was a bit patchy over glitter glue.
Overall, I did enjoy how eclectic this collection was. It had some nice pops of color. However, I felt some of the shades were a tad too similar (namely Get Up on The Hydra's Back & Sea) to be featured in the same collection. My favorite shade was Heartless, that pink glitter makes me swoon.
Thank you for checking out my review!
xx Carissa
My first Baroque shadows finally made it to me yesterday and now I kind of want to own all of her colors. :) This collection is next on my list. Have you tried using Heartless as a liner? Do you think the glitter would still show up?
ReplyDeleteWhich ones did you order? I haven't tried Heartless as a liner yet but I believe they will show up against it. I'll test it out this week and get back to you.
