Corvus The Roses Swatches & Demo
Hi readers, today I have swatches of the Corvus Cosmetics Roses collection. It is made up of 5 eyeshadows that are mostly satin finishes. This is part of a permanent range comprised of different color groups. The Bronzes is another one, and The Reds will be released on November 19. Although I applied these in my usual method of half UDPP, half Glitter Glue, none of them actually needed it.
Products purchased using a blogger discount. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Photos were taken in natural light. For reference, my skin tone is slightly lighter than an NC15, fair with warm undertones. Please view my disclosure policy for more information.
Cherie (not vegan, lip safe) is a light pink satin.
Champagne (not vegan, lip safe) is a rosy-orange base with gold shimmer. I think it's a little too brown/warm to be considered a rose gold.
Soirée (not vegan, lip safe) is a cool blackened purple. It looks a lot like Mac Sketch so this would work well as a cruelty-free alternative.
Madamoiselle (not vegan, lip safe) is a pink-toned white highlight shade.
Enchanté (vegan, lip safe) is a neutral matte brown. It applied a little patchy over GG but that's to be expected with matte so I wouldn't suggest using it over a sticky base.
Enchanté, Madamoiselle on top, Soirée, Champagne, and Cherie on the bottom. |
Champagne as a transition shade, Enchanté in the crease, and Soirée, Cherie, and Madamoiselle on the lid. My liner is an Urban Decay 24/7 liquid liner. |
Final Thoughts:
I didn't love this collection as much as I thought I would. There's nothing inherently wrong with any of the shades (on the contrary, they're nice colors and perform well in terms of formula), I just think I have similar shades. I also wish Champagne looked more like a true rose gold on me.
Thanks for reading!
xx Carissa
