Mega Swatch Post & Review: Siren Song Cosmetics

Hello everyone! Today I have for you a mega swatchathon post on a new-to-me indie brand called Siren Song Cosmetics. Siren Song is a relatively new indie company, having opened up in the summer of 2014. They do ship internationally for those who are interested. I have seen some rave reviews on their products over on Indiemakeupandmore so I decided to place an order!

I ordered these shadows on 12/27 and received them on 01/12. This did go over the site's listed TAT but the owner did shoot me an email to let me know she was waiting on some labels so I didn't mind. Luckily they were well worth the wait!

* Disclaimer: All products purchased with my own money unless otherwise stated. Thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. *

Here's a quick look at what I got. I ordered all samples (I personally prefer sample sizes since I have so much!) and they come packaged in clamshell containers. This is my first experience with clamshells. I do like the look of them but they are pretty messy. My sample of Our Story was filled with product and I accidently spilled some on my bed! I will say that the samples were generously filled which is awesome.

From left to right: Something Bad, Eternal Calm, Witch Hunters, The Fayth, For Good. All swatches are over UDPP and Darling Girl's Glitter Glue.

From left to right: Something Bad, Eternal Calm, Witch Hunters, The Fayth, For Good.

Witch Hunters is from The Grimmerie collection. This shade is a light purple with pink shimmer. It's a soft and pretty shade that would be very flattering on green eyes. Reminds me of Hello Waffle's Hot Cross Bunnies.

The Fayth is a highly pigmented coppery bronze. From the Distant World collection. This shade looks like molten bronze and I love it. I have the strong urge to pair it with Shiro Yzma's Essence of Llama. I find these kinds of colors are really versatile too.

For Good is from The Grimmerie Collection. I would describe this shade as a dusky purple with pink iridescence. This collection is really similar to Witch Hunters. Of the two, I prefer this one. Over Glitter Glue, the pink shimmer stands out quite a bit and brings to mind Fyrinnae's Serendipity.

Something Bad is a cool dark brown with pink and gold shimmer. It was part of The Grimmerie collection. I know this photo doesn't really show it, but the pink and gold shimmer really catches the light beautifully. If you are a neutral lover I would recommend picking this one up!

Eternal Calm is a light minty green with white iridescence. From the Distant World collection. This is one is unique in my collection; I don't have anything this light. I suspect this one may be quite similar to Fyrinnae Jade Ghost.

From left to right: Fathoms Below, Big Ass Trees, Siren Song, Pyreflies, Shipwreck.

Shipwreck is a very cool brown with silver glitter. From the Siren collection. I really like this shade. I have accumulated a lot of browns in my time but I don't believe I have anything like this one. The silver glitter sets it apart. I would suggest using this one with some sort of sticky base to get the glitters to stay in place.

Pyreflies. One of my favorites. This one was part of the Distant World collection. Pyreflies is a sheer white packed with baby blue and pink shimmer. HNGGGG. I have a weakness for off-white shimmery shades and this one is no exception. These kinds of colors are perfff to highlight the inner corner. I may try it as a face highlighter too!

Siren Song is from the namesake collection. It is a cool toned light blue with gold shimmer. I feel like this shadow is adequately named. This would pair so beautifully with some of the darker blues coming up.

Big Ass Trees is a mid-tone everest green with shimmer. From the Merciless collection (Attack on Titan collection!). I haven't watched the show yet but it's on my list! Smooth application and nicely pigmented.

Fathoms Below is a navy blue with sapphire shimmer. From the Siren collection. Beautiful shade of deep blue. This would make a killer liner and look especially nice on brown eyes.

From left to right: The Basement, Butterfly of Beauty, Female Titan, Our Story, The Outside World, Moonflow.

Moonglow is a bubblegum pink with gold shimmer. From the Distant Worlds collection. I'm not a huge pink lover but this one is pretty. I plan on trying it out as a blush.

The Outside World is a sky blue with gold iridescence. From the Merciless collection. I do love a good blue and I like that this one stands apart from the icy blues that have been churned out a lot recently.

Our Story is a deep teal with gold, bronze, blue, and holographic glitters. From the Distant Worlds collection. If you are a glitterbomb lover, RUN, DON'T WALK to get this shade! Hands down my favorite of the collective haul. I literally "wowed" out loud and then ran to show my SO. This would make one incredible liner or center shade for a halo eye!

Female Titan is a ballerina pink with a satin finish. From the Merciless collection. Most of Siren Song's catolog seems to be shimmery or glittery so this one was a nice change of pace. Although this color isn't particularly interesting, I feel like it would be a great workhorse shade for the paler complected.

Butterfly of Beauty is from the Eternal Summer collection. I would describe it as brightened orchid with light purple and silver glitter. What a fun shade! It would make a really gorgeous pop of color on the lower lashline.

The Basement is a a dark charcoal with gold and purple glitter. Part of the Merciless collection. Another fantastic glitterbomb. The glitter combination is really interesting and reminds me of Mardi Gras!

The Aftermath...bonus shot of my lovely assistant who kept me company while swatching!

Final thoughts: I really love most of the shades I received. I haven't seen a whole lot of buzz around the company which is such a shame since they make really beautiful products! Some of the best glitterbombs I've seen from any indie brands. I do feel like some of the shades are a bit too similar to each other (Witch Hunters, For Good), but the quality is great.

Hope you all enjoyed!
